Today, the Google Ads UI has introduced updates to enhanced conversions for leads diagnostics, aimed at improving visibility into conversion import implementation. These changes help identify and resolve common issues swiftly.
Key Changes
New "Importing limited user-provided data" Alert: A high-priority alert has been added to detect errors where users fail to import conversions with user-provided data (UPD) without a GCLID. It is recommended to import all conversion data with UPD to enhance performance and identify cross-device or YouTube EVC conversion touchpoints.
Improved Status for "Tagless" Implementations: A new "Good" status validates setups importing conversions with both GCLID and UPD without the Google tag. This change reduces confusion from previous "Urgent" alerts and emphasizes the importance of including GCLIDs in conversion imports for performance benefits.
Reprioritized Alert Logic: Alert priorities have been refined, making import-related issues more critical for users sending GCLIDs with offline data, while tag-related issues are now considered less severe.
Complete Alert Visibility: The diagnostics interface now displays all alerts simultaneously, regardless of severity, allowing developers to view all necessary actions upfront.
Deprecation of CLICK_NOT_FOUND: The CLICK_NOT_FOUND error has been removed from the Diagnostics UI and API, along with the related debug_mode parameter in the UploadClickConversions method.
