Google Ads is introducing a significant change to Automatically Created Assets (ACA) by integrating them at the ad level and using generative AI to fill gaps in Responsive Search Ads (RSA). This update, highlighted by Anthony Higman, has raised concerns among advertisers who are advised to disable this feature to avoid potential issues. The help documentation is incomplete, and the rollout details remain unclear.
Key Points
- New Integration: Automatically Created Assets will now be at the ad level, using generative AI to enhance RSAs.
- Potential Issues: Advertisers are warned to disable this feature to prevent undesirable ad content.
- Navigation Complexity: Accessing the setting requires navigating through the new interface:
- Go to Campaigns.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Select a campaign.
- Press Edit.
- Scroll down to "Change Automatically Created Assets."
How to Disable Automatically Created Assets
- In your Google Ads account, click the Campaigns icon.
- Open the Campaigns dropdown menu and select Campaigns.
- Click the Settings tab and choose the campaigns to edit.
- Click Edit, then select "Change automatically created assets settings" and turn it Off.
When disabled, these assets will be reported as “Removed” and will no longer serve.
Additional Information
- Naming Confusion: Google has named these new assets the same as Automated Assets, though they function differently. The new campaign-level assets modify headlines and descriptions based on keywords, landing pages, and ads using generative AI.
- Help Documentation: It's crucial to read all the questions at the bottom of the help page due to the naming confusion.
