The Advantage+ experience enhances App, Sales, and Leads campaigns by defaulting to an optimal, automation-first setup, providing advertisers with simplified access to Meta’s latest automation products. A phased deprecation of legacy APIs is underway, transitioning to the Automation Unification and Advantage+ setup for Marketing API developers.
With the launch of the streamlined Advantage+ experience in MAPI V23.0, the Advantage Shopping Campaigns (ASC) and Advantage App Campaign (AAC) APIs will be deprecated in MAPI V25.0 (Q1 2026). To assist developers in migrating legacy campaigns, Advantage+ Migrations will be introduced.
Starting 8th October, new ASC/AAC campaigns cannot be created using legacy APIs. Developers can revert to previous MAPI versions (v23.0 or less) to continue using legacy APIs but are encouraged to adopt Advantage+ campaigns.
New options available for developers include:
Copy and Migrate: Using the optional
migrate_to_advantage_plus
field, developers can copy ASC campaigns into the Advantage+ structure, resulting in a new campaign ID.Migrate Only: Developers can initiate a POST call on existing ASC/AAC campaigns with the
migrate_to_advantage_plus
field to migrate to the Advantage+ structure while maintaining the same campaign ID.Manual Ads Manager Migration: Partners can edit existing campaigns in Ads Manager to trigger an upgrade to Advantage+ Campaign Budget, which will migrate the campaign to the new structure.
Certain campaigns are ineligible for migration, including those using existing_customer_budget_percentage
, which must be duplicated in Ads Manager, and ASC campaigns with more than 50 ads in the ad set, which remain editable but cannot be duplicated post v25.0.
For further details, developers should consult the updated developer documentation and FAQs.
