Meta Ads is introducing Site Links, a significant update that enables advertisers to display additional business and product information on their ads. This feature allows the addition of multiple landing pages to a Facebook Ad, similar to Google Ads.
Site links appear below the main hero image or video, and clicking on a site link redirects users to the designated landing page within the in-app browser. Meta may suggest site links from your primary website, which you can review, confirm, and manually add.
Site links are compatible with ads using 'Website' as the conversion location in Traffic, Engagement, Leads, or Sales objectives. To add site links, locate the new 'Ad sources' section at the ad level and enter your website URL. A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 20 site links can be added to one ad. However, 'Ads with site links' can only be delivered in the Facebook Feed placement.
How to add site links to Meta Ads?
Go to Ads Manager.
Click + Create.
Select Your Ad Objective:
- Choose either Traffic, Engagement, Leads, or Sales.
- Note: The site links feature doesn’t support the app promotion objective.
Sales Ad Objective (if selected):
- Toggle off Use a catalog at the campaign level.
- Skip this step if you selected other ad objectives.
Complete Campaign Details:
- At the campaign level, fill in the campaign details, A/B test, and Advantage campaign budget sections as needed.
- Click Next.
Set Conversion Location:
- In the conversion section, select Website as your conversion location.
Ad Set Level:
- Complete the budget & schedule, audience controls, and placements sections.
Ad Level:
- Go to Identity and select the Facebook Page and/or Instagram account to represent your ad.
Add Ad Sources:
- Enter a website URL in the Ad sources section to automatically add information like site links to your ad.
Please note that Meta will try to find useful site links automatically, but if it can't, you can add them manually as outlined above, you just need to add at least 3 site links.
A helpful tip is to add custom parameters to your site link's destination link if you want to track clicks. This allows you to monitor traffic in Google Analytics from site links added to your ad.
