The Video Generation feature by Meta, announced in June, is now available in beta with a help page released. This generative AI tool transforms multiple single-image ads into videos composed of several scenes, including text overlays and music. Unlike previous tools like Meta’s “Turn into video” or Google Ads video creators, it generates lifelike animated clips (e.g., a model walking on a runway from a static image) rather than simple dynamic slideshows.
How Video Generation Works
Users upload images and provide a website URL. Meta’s system then uses these images, other images from the account, and content from the destination URL (text and images) to generate the video. It can also create additional images if necessary. The tool produces multiple video versions for selection and allows customization by adjusting scene order and text overlays.
Current Limitations
- Available only for ads targeting English-speaking audiences.
- Limited to selected verticals.
- Not yet widely accessible globally (e.g., not available in Japan yet).
The feature aims to address the challenge of producing videos at scale for creative strategies by automating video creation with AI-generated animations. Users are interested in seeing real examples from those who have access to the feature for English-targeted ads.
