Google now requires Additional Documents for Verification as indicated by a pop-up received by Zeeshan Ali.
Google requires advertisers to complete verification programs. Advertisers must provide business and identity information, which Google will verify and disclose in the Ads Transparency Center. Non-compliance or false information can lead to account suspension. Verification includes identity checks, business operations, and certifications for restricted content. Advertisers have deadlines to complete these steps, and failure to do so results in account pausing.
Verification Process
- Notification and Deadline: Advertisers will have 30 days from the notification to start the "About your business" section. Additional steps will follow based on account structure, billing setup, and whether the advertiser represents an organization or an individual.
- Completion Timeframe: Advertisers have another 30 days to complete all verification steps, including business operations verification if required. Failure to do so will result in account pausing.
- No Deadline Scenario: The process remains the same, but the account will not be paused for non-compliance.
Document guidelines
Provide a photo of a second proof of address document from the following list. Your name and address must be clearly visible.
Additional documents include:
- A second government-issued document or photo ID
- A utility or phone bill (with a date in the last 60 days)
- A bank statement (with a date in the previous 60 days)
- A lease or mortgage agreement
Important Notes
- Admin Responsibility: An admin of the Google Ads account or the payments profile must complete verification.
- Bulk Verification: Some users may qualify for bulk verification and will be notified in their Google Ads account.
- Additional Verification: Google may require additional verification for certain ad features to prevent invalid activity and scams.
Ads run by verified advertisers will display the name and location provided during the verification process in an automatically generated disclosure by Google.
