On March 14, 2025, Google Ads will update its Personalized Ads policy to permit personalization for App campaigns promoting games of skill, specifically Daily Fantasy Sports and Rummy apps targeted at app users in India. Certified advertisers will be able to personalize these ads by June 2025.
The Gambling in personalized ads sensitive interest category will be revised to exclude these specific App campaigns, allowing personalization for them. The updated category will specify:
- Sensitive: No personalization allowed
- Not sensitive: Personalization allowed
This includes various forms of gambling and online gaming, but explicitly allows personalization for Daily Fantasy Sports and Rummy apps in India.
Additionally, violations of the Personalized Ads policy will not result in immediate account suspension; instead, advertisers will receive a warning at least 7 days before any suspension occurs.
