Google Ads has introduced two updates for Video Action Campaigns:
(1) default opt-in for video enhancements and
(2) shorter video enhancements.
Default Opt-In and Shorter Video Enhancements
- Default Opt-In: When creating a new Video Action campaign, Google now automatically opts you in for video enhancements unless you manually turn them off.
- Shorter Video Enhancements: The system generates shorter versions of your video by identifying key moments while maintaining the original message and appearance.
How to Manage Video Enhancements
To disable video enhancements:
- Go to “Campaign settings”.
- Click the “Additional settings” drop-down menu.
- Click the “Video enhancements” drop-down menu.
- Uncheck the “Allow Google to create additional videos” checkbox.
Quality Control
Google Ads claims that video enhancements undergo a quality control process before they are automatically implemented. With the increase in video consumption on mobile devices, it is crucial to have ads properly formatted for different screen sizes and orientations. These enhancements use AI to resize and reformat videos to be more effective.
