Google is rolling out a new YouTube campaign type called "YouTube subscriptions and engagement" to help users gain more channel subscribers.
The "Subscriptions and engagement" objective targets users more likely to interact, such as subscribers. Without specific settings, the potential audience and results will be more cost-effective. YouTube will randomly recommend your video to anyone likely to subscribe. On the opposite, the "Video views" objective focuses on individuals who watch videos and generate views rather than interacting or subscribing, even though both objectives have the same "subscribe" button.
Before starting this campaign, specific steps should be followed:
- Maintain a high-quality profile picture and banner for your YouTube channel.
- Connect your YouTube account with your Google Ads.
- A new conversion action named "YouTube Subscriptions" will appear after linking.
- Create a campaign with the above conversion action as the primary goal for optimization.
- Aim for a broad yet relevant audience set.
- Utilize various ad formats to gain visibility across Google's inventories.
- You should use the link to your YouTube channel or URL Playlist in the final URL.
This campaign type currently lacks clear documentation; however, it was reported on Reddit a month ago.
