Microsoft has officially removed the cache link and cache operator support from Bing Search after several months of testing, following Google's similar removal in February 2024. Microsoft confirmed this change, stating that the cache feature was dropped from search results this week. Previously, the cache link was indicated by a downward arrow next to the URL in search snippets, which is no longer present.
Microsoft announced this update on X, explaining that the removal was due to the internet's evolution towards better reliability, as many pages are not optimized for cache viewing. Site owners can still access Bing-crawled content through Bing Webmaster Tools URL Inspection.
The removal of cache links is significant for some SEOs who have relied on them, despite their limited utility for debugging SEO issues.
