Google has announced changes to Display & Video 360 reporting through the Bid Manager API, effective October 1, 2024.
Changes:
Anonymous Inventory Modeling (AIM) Reporting:
- The AIM reporting dimension (FILTER_ANONYMOUS_INVENTORY_MODELING) will be discontinued.
- API requests using this dimension will return a 400 error after October 1.
YouTube Report Metrics:
- DST/ROC (Regulatory Operating Costs) and Total Media Cost metrics will become incompatible with YouTube reports.
- Affected metrics: those with prefixes METRIC_TOTAL_MEDIA_COST_ and METRIC_FEE32_.
- API requests for YouTube reports using these metrics will return a 400 error.
Actions for Existing Reports:
- Google will update existing YouTube queries to remove affected metrics after October 1.
- Users should review and modify their reports to maintain service continuity.
Recommendations:
- Remove the AIM dimension from existing reports.
- Remove affected cost metrics from YouTube reports.
- Use individual media cost metrics and add them to supported fees for total cost calculations.
These updates aim to refine reporting systems and align with current data and cost reporting standards in digital advertising.
API users should review and update their reporting configurations before October 1 to ensure compatibility with the new requirements.
