Starting April 14, 2025, Google will revise its Unfair advantage policy to permit showing the same ad from the same company to the same page, provided it appears in different ad locations. This change formalizes previous experiments with double serving ads.
The English version of Google's Help Center remains the authoritative source for policy enforcement, despite the availability of translated versions. The updated policy will clarify that the prohibition on displaying multiple ads for a business, app, or site applies only to a single ad location.
Specifically, the policy states that using the Google Network to gain an unfair traffic advantage over others in the auction is not allowed. Examples of violations include affiliates advertising against program rules and attempting to show multiple ads in one location. Importantly, violations will not result in immediate account suspension; a warning will be issued at least 7 days prior to any suspension.
