Google Business Profile has launched a new AI-powered feature for merchants using Maps on iPhone, allowing them to create posts with AI-enhanced images. This feature enables users to generate engaging backgrounds for their photos, streamlining the post creation process. Currently, AI-powered posts are available in select regions and languages, with users required to be 18 years or older and comply with the Google Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy.
To utilize this feature, users can tap "Transform with AI" while adding a photo to their post in the Maps app, select a theme, and generate a background. For detailed instructions, users are directed to the help center.
Additionally, only merchants in the US can access Product Studio, which enhances post engagement by allowing the addition of AI-generated backgrounds. The steps to create a post with an AI-generated background include:
- Access your Business Profile.
- Tap "Add update" and then "Add a photo or video."
- Select "Transform with AI."
- Choose an image and a theme.
- Tap "Generate" and review the output.
- If satisfied, tap "Add" and continue to publish or preview the post.
Users can edit their drafts until they are ready to publish.
