Threads is introducing a Recent tab for searches to make it easier to find timely, relevant content. The search results will still be evaluated for quality but will be displayed in chronological order. The Following feed is also in chronological order, ensuring the most recent posts are seen first.
Users have expressed concerns and suggestions:
- Forced refreshes: Users are frustrated by the app refreshing and losing their place in the feed when they briefly switch apps.
- AI bots: Some users want the option to opt out of AI search bots and AI summations of comment sections.
- Following feed: There's a request for the app to remember the user's preference for the Following feed as the default.
- Trending topics: Users are awaiting the release of trending topics in certain regions, such as Canada.
- Weighting of posts: Users suggest that the 'For You' feed should be more heavily weighted towards recent posts rather than older, irrelevant ones.
- Access to features: Some users feel that all features should be accessible to everyone, not just a select few.
- Instagram algorithm: Users are requesting a fix for the Instagram algorithm, expressing a preference for a feed in chronological order.
- Search functionality: Users are asking for the ability to search for URLs and use search parameters, similar to Twitter.
- Replies in the following feed: Users are requesting the ability to see replies in the following feed.
Despite the concerns, some users are excited about the new feature and believe that Threads is improving.
