Instagram is currently testing a new "Early Access" feature that will allow users to sign up for beta testing upcoming features.
This new option, discovered by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi, is expected to be part of Meta's "Meta Verified" paid subscription package. Meta Verified, which was launched last year, offers a blue checkmark and various add-ons for $14.99 per month. One of these add-ons includes "Exclusive Features," which currently offers unique stickers but may soon include early access to beta features.
While users can already sign up for some beta tests through Meta's existing beta testing program, this new feature could be an expansion aimed at increasing Meta Verified sign-ups.
Meta has not disclosed the performance of Meta Verified, but it has expanded its verified business packages, indicating a good level of interest. Although paying for verification may reduce the value of the checkmark, Meta sees it as a low-maintenance way to generate revenue.
Instagram has not officially commented on this new test, but its advanced testing stage suggests a new push for Meta Verified may be imminent. This could be appealing to dedicated Instagram users.
