Google will stop serving ads with message assets linked to unverified phone numbers starting September 1st. Additionally, advertisers will be unable to create new message assets with unverified phone numbers from August 1st.
This change updates the Destination requirements policy to extend phone number verification requirements, previously applied to call-only ads, call assets, and location assets, now also to message assets. Enforcement begins for new message assets on August 1st and for existing ones on September 1st. Ads with unverified phone numbers will be disapproved and will not serve until the phone number is properly verified. Guidance is available for fixing disapproved ads or assets.
