Google has launched new alerts for personal data removal from search results, aimed at enhancing user privacy. The redesigned Results about you tool scans for personal information such as phone numbers and addresses, allowing users to easily remove outdated content. The new hub simplifies the sign-up process and offers proactive monitoring, notifying users when new results are detected.
Requesting removals has become more straightforward; clicking on the three dots next to a search result reveals an updated menu that clarifies eligible content for removal and enables users to submit requests with fewer clicks. Additionally, if outdated search results persist after content changes on a webpage, users can now request a refresh by clicking the three dots, prompting Google to recrawl the page for the latest information.
