Google Chrome has introduced five new features to enhance the mobile search experience on Android and iOS:
More Chrome Actions for Local Places
New Chrome Actions allow users to quickly call, get directions, and read reviews of local businesses directly from the Chrome search bar. This feature is live on Android and will be available on iOS later this fall.
Redesigned Address Bar on Tablets
The address bar on iPads and Android tablets has been redesigned to utilize larger screen sizes and align with the Material You design language. The website remains visible below the drop-down menu for easier navigation.
New Shortcut Suggestions
Chrome now offers personalized shortcut suggestions in the address bar based on frequently typed terms. For example, typing "schedules" will prioritize related sites higher in search suggestions.
Trending Searches on iOS
Trending search suggestions are now available in the Chrome address bar on iOS, similar to the existing feature on Android. These trends appear below recent searches when accessing the address bar from the New Tab page.
New Sports Cards in Discover Feed
Live sports cards have been added to Chrome’s Discover Feed on the New Tab page for both iOS and Android. Users will receive automatic updates on games if they have shown interest in a team. The Discover Feed can be customized via the three-dot menu in the Chrome mobile app.
