Despite the Google search API data leak and its confirmation by Google, 10% of SEOs still trust Google. This level of trust has remained unchanged over the past decade. A recent poll on X asked, "After reading Google's response to the data leak - will you trust Google going forward?" Out of 1,700+ responses, 10% said they would continue to trust Google.
In a similar poll conducted in 2014, which asked if Google lies to webmasters, 10% said Google does not lie, 33% said Google sometimes lies, and 57% said Google lies. This indicates that the perception of Google's honesty among SEOs has not worsened over the past decade.
