Reddit is introducing several updates to enhance its "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) sessions, a popular feature on the platform.
Key updates include:
AMA scheduling: This feature allows users to plan their AMA sessions in advance. Previously, users had to create two separate posts to announce an AMA, one for when it was planned and another when it started. The new update allows users to start immediately or schedule a start time up to 21 days in advance. This also helps build anticipation for upcoming sessions by providing preview links.
"Remind Me" button: This button sends a push notification to interested users 24 hours before the AMA and just before it starts, helping to increase attendance and spread the word about the session.
Guest collaborators: AMA hosts can now add up to five guest collaborators who can answer questions during the session. This is particularly useful for group AMAs, where each individual can respond via their own profile.
End notes: These make it clear when the AMA session has ended. Hosts can also share links to other social channels in these end notes, allowing attendees to learn more after the session.
Sorting AMA comments: Users can now sort AMA comments by "Answered" and "Unanswered," making it easier to see what was shared during the interview session.
These updates aim to improve the utility of Reddit's AMA process and provide more ways for users to maximize their AMA sessions.
