YouTube has introduced a simplified ad campaign set-up option within YouTube Studio, making it easier for creators to promote their videos. The new feature is available in the "Promotions" tab, where creators can launch campaigns to increase the reach of their uploaded videos through easy set-up and targeting options.
The "Website visits" option is not yet available but is expected to be introduced soon. YouTube Promotions are accessible to all channels that meet the requirements for "Advanced" features and have over 1,000 subscribers.
According to YouTube, creators have used promotions to grow views and subscribers faster, increase views on content showcasing a product or service with a goal of boosting sales, or to reach specific audiences. These promotions are in addition to a channel's organic reach and discovery on YouTube.
The new feature is similar to Facebook’s “Boost” options but tailored for YouTube videos. Creators can now easily put ad spend behind a video that’s gaining traction and increase their ad budget if it performs well, potentially attracting more viewers.
The option is currently available to all creators on desktop, and is being tested with some creators in the mobile app.
