Adobe Lightroom introduces Generative Remove, a generative AI technology powered by Adobe Firefly. This tool enables photographers to eliminate distractions from their photos with a single click, producing high-quality results. Generative Remove uses Firefly technology to intelligently fill the photo behind removed items, providing impressive results on complex backgrounds.
The release also includes an improved Lens Blur tool, which uses AI to map the foreground and background of an image to apply a pro-quality blur effect. Adobe introduces a set of brand-new adaptive presets for Lens Blur that use AI technology to apply a blur effect tailor-made to a photo.
The latest Lightroom release also includes Sony tethering support, the ability to move cloud files to local drives, the ability to edit videos with the Tone Curve, and a slideshow feature.
Adobe is committed to developing AI by the company’s AI Ethics principles. When Generative Remove becomes generally available, Content Credentials will be automatically attached to photos edited with the feature in Lightroom. Content Credentials are built on the C2PA open standard and supported by the Adobe-led Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI).
The new features and enhancements are available for download today on Lightroom for mobile, web, and desktop.
