Facebook has released Graph API v20.0 and Marketing API v20.0.
The updates include:
- Marketing API version auto-upgrade: The platform will automatically upgrade calls to the next available version if an endpoint is unaffected between a version to be deprecated and the next available version.
- Reminder Ads for Marketing API: Instagram Marketing API now supports reminder ad creation, which was previously only available in Meta Ads Manager.
- New API on the Ad Account Node: This API allows advertisers to view Meta’s guidance on their campaigns and is expected to improve Cost Per Action (CPA).
- Multi-advertiser Ads: Advertisers can now opt in to multi-advertiser ads via the Marketing API.
- Generative AI creative features: Features like Text Generation, Image Expansion, and Background Generation are now available to advertisers via the Marketing API.
- Instagram Video API: Resumable Upload: This new protocol supports the publishing of Instagram videos and allows for local file uploads, longer video uploads for Reels, and resuming an upload operation after a network interruption.
- Instagram Graph API: Onboarding New Metrics: Six additional metrics for Carousel Container Media are now available for the Graph API.
Deprecations and breaking changes include:
- Discontinuation of the Booking Button in Messenger API.
- Discontinuation of Sponsored Messages Ad Type creation in Marketing API.
- Removal of Non-Critical Timeframes for Insights Demographics Metrics via External Instagram Graph API.
- API Version Deprecations: Graph API v13.0, v14.0, and v15.0, and Marketing API v18.0 and v19.0 will be deprecated and removed from the platform on specific dates.
The Meta Business SDK v20 Release will include bug fixes, dependency upgrades, new features, and an updated API interface to match Graph API v20. It will also introduce additional support for Instagram APIs.
