Instagram's Collabs feature, which optimizes creator-brand collaborations, has been limited by its requirement to invite collaborators only during posting. This limitation has caused issues such as creators forgetting to invite brands, delays in accepting invites, and app glitches.
New Update for Reels
Instagram is now allowing users to invite collaborators after a Reel has been shared. The process is straightforward:
- Go to the Reel and click the three dots.
- Tap “Manage” and then “Edit.”
- Tap “Tag People” and “Invite Collaborator.”
- Search for the account, choose “Invite to Collaborate,” and send the invite.
- The invited account will receive an invitation, and upon acceptance, the Reel will appear on their profile.
Benefits
- Audience Expansion: Creators and brands can tap into each other’s audiences more effectively.
- Reduced Frustration: Fewer issues with missing or non-functional Collabs tags, reducing the need for reposting sponsored content.
- Content Repurposing: Brands can natively repurpose content from creators, with permission and appropriate compensation.
This update is a significant improvement for creators, influencer marketers, and social media managers.
