Google Tag Manager has launched an automated setup process with Cloudflare for implementing first-party mode. This new automation streamlines the deployment of first-party infrastructure through Cloudflare's platform.
First-party mode enables organizations to deploy Google tags using their website's own domain infrastructure. The system works as an intermediary between your website and Google's services:
- Tags load from your first-party domain
- Measurement requests are sent to your domain
- Data is then forwarded to relevant Google products
This infrastructure can be deployed using:
- Content Delivery Network (CDN)
- Load balancer
- Web server
The integration with Cloudflare now makes this setup process more accessible and automated for website owners utilizing Cloudflare's services.
