Google Tag Manager now supports adding custom event parameters to Google Ads and Floodlight tags, a feature previously unavailable. This update introduces a new "Event Parameter" field group within these tags, allowing users to send custom parameters and configure tracker settings such as User Data dispatch directly in individual Ads and Floodlight event tags. Additionally, an Event Settings variable can be used for this purpose. This enhancement reduces the differences between manual tagging with gtag() and using Google Tag Manager's built-in templates, improving flexibility and consistency. The feature is rolling out and should be available in most containers.
