Google has updated and renamed the Search Console Shopping tab listings report to the Merchant opportunities report. This change aligns the report's name with its functionality, which now includes recommendations for enhancing online shop visibility on Google, as well as details about payment methods and store ratings.
The Merchant opportunities report is available for eligible sites selling physical goods. Users who have not yet signed up for Merchant Center will be prompted to do so, while those managing their accounts through third-party sites like Shopify will receive prompts to integrate with Merchant Center.
To maximize the benefits of the report, users are encouraged to associate their Merchant Center account, which can lead to more growth opportunities. Adding store information, such as shipping and returns, store ratings, and payment methods, can enhance product display and assist customers during their shopping experience on Google. Users can also check the status of their information—whether it's pending, approved, or flagged for issues—by returning to the report.
