Mobile searchers will soon experience a more streamlined appearance of URLs in search results. The breadcrumb element, initially part of the "site hierarchy" feature, has been found less useful on mobile devices due to screen size limitations. Starting today, Google will no longer display breadcrumbs in mobile search results across all languages and regions, although they will still appear in desktop results.
On desktop, the visible URL consists of the domain and breadcrumb, while on mobile, it will be simplified to just the domain. Users utilizing breadcrumb markup do not need to make any changes, as it will still be supported for desktop search results. The breadcrumb rich result report in Search Console remains active, and users can continue to implement and test breadcrumb markup using the Rich Results Test.
This update aims to enhance the mobile search experience, making it easier for users to find information. Feedback and questions can be directed to LinkedIn or the Google Search Central Community.
