Google AdSense Updates Auto Optimize Feature for Enhanced Site Level Control

May 12, 2025 at 5:49:33 AM

TL;DR Google AdSense has enhanced the Auto optimize feature, allowing site-level configuration. Users can manage settings on the Ads page, with existing configurations applied to all sites. A checkbox for automatically applying experiment winners has been added, along with a column for monitoring Auto optimize status. New sites will have Auto optimize enabled by default. AFS publishers can find their settings on a new page linked from the Experiments section.

Google AdSense Updates Auto Optimize Feature for Enhanced Site Level Control

Google AdSense has enhanced its Auto Optimize feature, allowing users greater control over optimization experiments at the site level. The rollout of these changes will occur over the next few weeks, applying existing Auto Optimize settings across all sites. Users can customize settings for each site individually.

Key updates include:

  • Management Shift: Auto Optimize is now managed on the Ads page instead of the Experiments page.
  • Site-Level Control: Users can choose to enable or disable Auto Optimize for each site.
  • New Checkbox Option: The "Suggestions only" option has been replaced with "Auto-apply experiment winner," allowing automatic application of the winning experiment.
  • Visibility Enhancements: An "Auto optimize" column has been added to the sites table for easy monitoring.
  • Default Settings for New Sites: New sites will have Auto Optimize enabled by default, with "Auto-apply experiment winner" selected, 50% traffic allocation, and no blocked experiments.

For AdSense for Search publishers, Auto Optimize settings can now be accessed on a new "Auto optimize for search ads" page, while still being controlled at the account level.
