Google AdSense has introduced new universal opt-out mechanisms and privacy controls to comply with laws in multiple US states. These mechanisms are similar to the Colorado Universal Opt-Out Mechanism (UOOMs) and now apply to additional states including Connecticut, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Texas, Minnesota, New Jersey, and Maryland. These states require that Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals automatically opt users out of ad targeting, data sale, or data sharing. For users in these states, Google will directly receive GPC signals and activate Restricted Data Processing (RDP) mode for their ad requests.
