Google introduced a new traffic source breakdown report in Google AdSense to help publishers better understand where their visitors come from, enabling more informed content decisions. This breakdown divides traffic into two main categories: direct traffic, which includes visitors who come straight to the page or whose source is unknown, and traffic from popular platforms, which includes visitors from search engines, social media, and other well-known sites. The report is available for data starting July 21, 2025, but it is fully compatible only with AdSense for Content (AFC). Its coverage for AdSense for Search (AFS) traffic is limited, and its use on AFS inventory is not recommended.
