Google is updating its demand source management in AdSense by replacing the "Ad networks" blocking control with a new "Authorized Buyers" control starting November 6, 2025. This change removes inactive ad networks, test ad networks, and Display & Video 360 (DV360) networks from the blocking controls. The "Automatically allow new Google-certified ad networks" control will also be removed, with new authorized buyers allowed by default. Existing blocked ad networks remain unchanged, requiring no action.

Authorized Buyers Control

Authorized buyers have programmatic access to "Google Partner Inventory," which includes trusted ad inventory from publishers and developers using Google Ad Manager, AdMob, and AdSense within an ad exchange environment. These buyers typically include ad networks, trading desks, and demand-side platforms (DSPs).

The new "Authorized Buyers" page allows publishers to allow or block specific authorized buyers from bidding on their inventory. It also provides better visibility and control over the parent-child relationships between authorized buyers.

Timeline and Transition

  • Before November 6, 2025:

    • The "Automatically allow new Google-certified ad networks" control remains available. Publishers are encouraged to enable it if currently off to prepare for the change.
    • Changes to ad networks under Blocking controls > Ad networks will be preserved and visible under Blocking controls > Authorized Buyers after launch.
    • A view-only version of the "Authorized Buyers" page is accessible for familiarization but cannot be used until after launch.
  • After November 6, 2025:

    • The "Authorized Buyers" page becomes active for managing authorized buyers.
    • New authorized buyers are allowed by default.
    • Publishers can continue to allow or block Google ad accounts, including DV360 accounts, from the "Advertiser" section in the Ad review center.
    • Managing authorized buyers from within the Ad review center will no longer be possible.

These updates aim to enhance control and transparency over programmatic demand sources in AdSense.
