You can adjust the date range in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) reports to compare data from different periods. When you modify the date range, it will refresh all other reports, but it won't impact other users' views.
However, you cannot save a specific date to a report through customization. It's worth noting that the** Real-time report** does not include a date picker.
Change the Date Range
- Select the date picker in the top right of the report.
- Choose a date range from pre-set options like "Last 7 days" or "Last 12 months," or select a custom range using the calendar.
- Optional: Click "Compare" to compare the selected date range with the previous date range.
- Click Apply.
Switch Between Day, Week, and Month Views
- Navigate to the desired GA4 report with a line chart.
- Click the drop-down menu in the top right corner of the line chart.
- Choose between day, week, or month views.
Compare Data for Two Date Ranges
When you select "Compare," you have several options:
- Preceding period (match day of week): Compares the current range with the previous range starting the same weekday. Same period last year (match day of week): This compares the current range with the same date range last year, starting on the same weekday.
- Preceding period: Compares the current date range with the previous one.
- Same period last year: Compares the current date range with the same range the previous year to date.
