Amazon has launched Amazon.co.za in South Africa, providing a new online shopping experience for local customers. The platform offers a wide selection of local and international brands across 20 different product categories. Customers can enjoy same-day and next-day delivery, free delivery on their first order, and free delivery for subsequent orders above R500 (about $27).
Amazon.co.za also offers hassle-free returns within 30 days and customer support via phone, email, and live chat. The store features a wide range of products across categories such as Consumer Electronics, Sporting Equipment, Toys, Home, and small Kitchen Appliances, including international brands and popular local brands from independent South African sellers.
Amazon has partnered with goGOGOgo, a South African non-profit organization, to offer customers the opportunity to package eligible products in handmade gift bags. This initiative supports local businesses and income generation opportunities for grandmothers, locally known as GOGOs, raising children.
More than 60% of the items sold in Amazon’s stores globally are from independent sellers, most of which are small- and medium-sized businesses. Amazon.co.za offers independent sellers an opportunity to rapidly launch, grow, and scale, leveraging the innovative capabilities, valuable tools, and educational content provided by Amazon. South African businesses of all sizes can sell their products to customers across the country through Amazon.
The platform is available on both desktop and mobile browsers, or via the Amazon Shopping app.
