YouTube announced significant platform updates focusing on video management and monetization features for creators.
New Video Settings Experience
YouTube is testing three different layouts for video settings across Studio mobile and the main YouTube app:
- First Layout: Introduces visibility and audience dropdowns with expandable options
- Second Layout: Groups settings into consolidated categories for easier navigation
- Third Layout: Combines dropdown menus with grouped options below a "show more" section
The platform aims to simplify creator workflows and improve the upload experience across multiple YouTube surfaces. The test is currently limited to a small group of creators.
Super Chat Goals Launch
YouTube is expanding its Super Chat Goals feature to all eligible users, enabling new monetization opportunities during live streams and premieres. Key features include:
- Live goal tracking with progress indicators
- Countdown timers for each goal
- Celebration animations upon goal completion
- Multiple goal-setting within single streams
Super Chat Goals Best Practices
YouTube recommends several strategies for using Super Chat Goals:
- Announce goals through Community posts before streams
- Track progress using the goals button in live chat
- Offer special content like Q&As or behind-the-scenes access
- Create multiple goals in one stream to maintain momentum
- Acknowledge and thank supporters to build community connection
The platform will roll out these features over the coming months to all creators eligible for Super Chat.
