The platform previously known as Twitter is introducing a new AI element that will allow advertisers to create ad audiences for their campaigns through conversational descriptions. This feature, known as AI Audiences, will enable advertisers to describe their target audience, and the AI system will generate a pool of relevant users to target. The AI matching system will provide an ad audience based on the description given, including an overview of top users, their interests, locations, etc.
This approach is similar to what Google announced in its NewFronts presentation, using generative AI to extrapolate the perfect audience for each campaign. This could be a significant development for advertisers, provided it works effectively.
X is confident that its targeting systems will deliver, noting that its improved AI audience matching and placement tools are driving a 10% increase in click-through rates and a 16% increase in conversions. However, some advertisers are still avoiding X due to concerns about its moderation views and owner Elon Musk's controversial posts.
The release date for this feature is not yet known, with X only stating that it's "coming soon".
