Snapchat has introduced Creator Subscriptions to enhance fan engagement and provide scalable revenue opportunities for top creators. The alpha test began on February 23 with select US-based creators, with plans to expand to creators in Canada, the U.K., and France soon. This new subscription model builds on Snapchat’s existing monetization tools like the Unified Monetization Program and Snap Star Collab Studio.
Key Features of Creator Subscriptions
Subscribers gain access to:
- Exclusive content, including subscriber-only Snaps and Stories
- Priority replies to a creator’s public Stories
- An ad-free experience within that creator’s Stories
Benefits for Creators
Creator Subscriptions allow creators to:
- Experiment with content and reward their biggest supporters
- Build a recurring income stream that grows with their audience
- Access a new, sustainable revenue source alongside existing options
- Engage more directly with their most loyal fans
- Maintain flexibility and control over how they interact with their community
Creators can set their own monthly subscription prices within Snap’s recommended tiers, enabling them to define the value of their community.
Context and Expansion
Snapchat reported 946 million monthly active users in Q4 2025, with a 47% year-over-year increase in U.S. Snapchatters posting to Spotlight, reflecting strong community momentum. The Creator Subscriptions initiative is part of Snapchat’s ongoing investment in a creator-first monetization ecosystem aimed at helping creators build sustainable, scalable businesses.
Starting February 23, iOS users in supported markets can subscribe to participating creators such as Jeremiah Brown, Harry Jowsey, and Skai Jackson. The program will expand to more creators, users, and devices in the coming weeks.
