Meta is introducing a feature that allows companies to define their brand logo, colors, and fonts for creative enhancements in advertising. This update can be found in the "Branding" section, either within the "Identity" section of ad creation or at the top of the ad creative setup wizard.
When using AI-generated or Advantage+ Creative enhancements, Meta requires a branding starting point. If not defined, it attempts to source branding from previous URLs and ads, which can lead to inconsistent results. By defining branding, advertisers can ensure that overlays and AI-generated creatives reflect their chosen brand colors and fonts.
To use this feature, upload a brand logo, select up to three brand colors for use in various text elements, and choose a preferred font. Ensure that the "Apply this branding" option is activated to see these changes reflected in the Branding section.
While the branding setting is a positive development, it has limitations. Users have minimal control over how their branding is applied, such as the size or position of the logo. Additionally, Meta's AI tends to default to one of the selected colors for text backgrounds, which may not always be desirable. Although the feature is not perfect, it represents an improvement over previous branding options, reducing brand risk. Future updates may enhance the application of these branding settings.
