Threads has rapidly grown to over 400 million monthly active users who engage by sharing and building on each other's perspectives. Following its recent global expansion, Threads has introduced updates to the Threads Marketing API that allow partners and advertisers to leverage new ad features and tools aimed at improving campaign performance and moderation.
New Features in Threads Marketing API
App Ads Support:
Advertisers can now purchase App ads on Threads globally through the Marketing API. Supported campaign objectives include APP_INSTALLS and app event optimization for LINK_CLICKS or CONVERSIONS. The Threads feed placement enables advertisers to extend their app campaign reach using existing ad creatives such as images, videos, or carousels without needing bespoke assets.
Reply Moderation Tooling:
This feature allows advertisers to view, hide, and reply to top-level replies on their Threads ads, helping manage conversations effectively. To use these moderation endpoints, apps must have either the ads_read or ads_management permission for the ad account owning the ad. Specifically, ads_read permission is required to view replies, while ads_management permission is needed to hide and reply to replies.
