After months of beta testing, Amazon has launched a Returns Evaluation feature for all users.
New Settings
The new feature allows sellers to upload specific ASINs they want Amazon to mark as unfulfillable immediately, bypassing the evaluation process. When used strategically, this can save money and prevent account health issues.
Why it matters
Historically, when an FBA return is sent back to Amazon, it is evaluated for damage by Amazon's team and either placed back in inventory or marked unfulfillable. This process has led to issues, particularly in categories like apparel, electronics, and seasonal items, where returned products are sometimes worn or broken but still marked as new. These items are shipped to new customers, who often return them due to their condition, resulting in double return fees for the same product.
Implementation
The settings can be accessed here.
The feature is handy for higher-end electronics, Halloween costumes, and ASINs with a return rate above 15%.
