Google eases app testing rules for new developers on Play Store

Google has lowered the number of testers needed for new developers releasing apps on the Play Store from 20 to 12. This applies to developers with personal accounts created after November 13, 2023, who must run a closed test with 12 testers over 14 days. The previous requirement was burdensome for indie developers. Developers with business accounts are not affected, allowing for easier app publishing while maintaining quality through user testing.
