YouTube Updates Desktop UI for All Premium Subscribers

YouTube has rolled out its updated desktop UI to all Premium subscribers. The redesign places the video title, description, and comments to the right of the video player, with recommendations at the bottom.

YouTube claims this "improved viewing experience" clears the playback screen and makes it easier to find related content and engage with comments. However, user feedback has been largely negative, citing the new format as less engaging and responsive.

Despite the criticism, YouTube seems committed to this design, which has been in testing since February. The redesigned Watch page is available as a Premium perk until July 1st.
