Structured Data Files v8.1 is now generally available for all users, allowing uploads and downloads in the Display & Video 360 UI and via the API. Key updates in SDF v8.1 include support for controlling inventory source settings for Demand Gen ad groups, enforcing OMID targeting at the advertiser level, and renaming the TrueView Content Filter column to Inventory Mode in relevant files.
Two significant breaking changes will take effect on April 22, 2025:
Creation of YouTube video action line items using SDF will be discontinued; users must create Demand Gen line items instead. Attempts to create line items with a Subtype of “Action” and Type of “TrueView” will fail.
The value “Video Partners” must be included in the TrueView Inventory Source Targeting column for Demand Gen line items. Existing line items will have this value backfilled, and it will be included in new Structured Data Files. Users must update to SDF v8.1 to manage ad group inventory serving on Google Display Network by adjusting values in the Demand Gen Inventory Source Strategy and Demand Gen Enabled Inventory Sources columns.
Further details on these changes and the differences between v8 and v8.1 are available in the Structured Data Files release notes. Users on v6, v7, or v7.1 can refer to the migration guides for assistance.
