Snapchat has launched a new, unified Monetization Program aimed at empowering creators by integrating ads into both Stories and longer Spotlight videos. With a 25% increase in Spotlight viewership year-over-year, creators will have the opportunity to monetize videos exceeding 1 minute starting February 1, 2025.
To qualify for the program, creators must meet specific criteria:
- Have at least 50,000 followers.
- Post a minimum of 25 times per month to Saved Stories or Spotlight.
- Share content on either Spotlight or Public Stories for at least 10 of the last 28 days.
- Achieve one of the following metrics in the last 28 days:
- 10 million Snap views
- 1 million Spotlight views
- 12,000 hours of view time
The number of creators posting publicly has more than tripled in the past year, indicating a strong community engagement with their content. Snapchat is dedicated to enhancing rewards for creators through various initiatives, including the Snap Star Collab Studio, to support their success and authenticity.
