Reddit is enhancing its popular "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) sessions with several updates aimed at making them easier to run and promote.
Key updates include:
AMA scheduling: Redditors can now choose "AMA" as a post type within the scheduling flow on desktop, allowing for better planning of interview sessions. Users can start immediately or set a start time up to 21 days in advance. This feature will soon be available on mobile apps.
Preview links and "Remind Me" button: These features enable Redditors to build anticipation for their upcoming session. The "Remind Me" button sends a push notification to interested users 24 hours before and right before the AMA session begins.
Guest collaborators: AMA hosts can now add up to five guest collaborators who can answer questions within an AMA session. Each guest can respond via their own profile in the AMA.
End notes: These make it clear when the AMA session has ended. AMA hosts can also share links to other social channels within these end notes, providing attendees with more information after the AMA concludes.
Sorting AMA comments: Users can now sort AMA comments by "Answered" and "Unanswered", making it easier to see what was discussed during the interview session.
These updates are expected to increase the utility of Reddit’s AMA process and provide more ways for users to maximize their AMA sessions in the app.
