Reddit has introduced new comment features that enhance user interaction and content management. Users can now convert comments into standalone posts to continue conversations, track detailed analytics on their comments, and save comment drafts automatically to avoid losing progress.
Share Comments as Posts
Users can easily turn any comment into a new post by tapping the share icon, selecting a community, adding a title and body text, then posting. Communities that do not allow shared comments will have that option disabled.
Comment Insights
Reddit provides real-time analytics on comments across all platforms and supported languages, including:
- Upvotes and Upvote Ratio (upvotes vs. downvotes)
- Number of Replies
- Views with geographical data
- Number of Shares
- Number of Awards received
These insights help users gauge the impact and reception of their comments.
Comment Drafts
Comments typed but not posted are now saved automatically as drafts if users swipe away or exit. Drafts can be accessed later from the user profile under “drafts.” Currently, drafts do not save gifs or images.
Desktop Enhancements
On desktop, users can now add text alongside images, videos, and link posts, improving the post creation experience.
These updates aim to spotlight valuable comments, provide engagement metrics, and improve user convenience in commenting and posting on Reddit.
