Meta Events Manager has updated its 'Data restrictions' settings, introducing two control settings: Core setup and Custom Event blocking.
Core Setup
- Manual Enablement: Users can manually enable Core setup to prevent sharing information that may violate Meta Business Tools terms.
- Automatic Enablement: Meta may automatically enable Core setup, restricting certain data like custom parameters and parts of URLs. This can lead to:
- Ads pausing
- Event information becoming unavailable
- Automatic advanced matching being disabled
- Issues with adding items to catalogs using Meta Pixel
- Custom events needing review
Once Meta enables Core setup, it cannot be disabled, especially for businesses in industries like financial services, insurance, healthcare, banking, lending, and pharmaceuticals. This may also occur if there's a notification about data sharing violations.
Custom Event Blocking
- Review Process: Users must review new custom events sent to Meta. Only confirmed events can be utilized with ad features.
