Meta Advertisers face a significant update in ad setup as 'Format Display Options' replace the previous 'Flexible' and 'Collection' formats, altering how different ad formats are created.
Key Changes in Ad Setup
When choosing 'Manual upload', only two ad format options remain:
- Single image or video
- Carousel
For Single image or video:
- You can upload up to 10 images and videos by default, replacing the old 'Flexible' format.
- After uploading, 'Format display options' are enabled by default.
- Advertisers can use dropdown menus for 'Carousel' and 'Collection' to select checkboxes for showing products and/or site links.
- To enable these options, site links and/or products must be provided during creative setup.
For the Carousel format:
- Checkboxes allow showing cards as either single image or video or as collection tiles.
- Only the first image or video selected will appear as the primary media for carousel and collection ads.
This update simplifies the format choices but introduces new display options that depend on prior setup of products and site links.
