Meta Ads has introduced five new updates enhancing ad targeting, creation, and measurement capabilities.
Dynamic URL Parameters
Threads is now included as a dynamic URL parameter for ads, appearing as 'th' in site_source_name and 'threads_stream' as the placement.
Live Video Ads
Advertisers can create Live video ads directly from Meta Ads Manager. This requires a live video on a Facebook Page first. To use, select any campaign objective, choose manual setup, enable 'Live video ad' at the ad level, and select a current or upcoming live video.
New Ad Metrics
Two new metrics are introduced: 'WhatsApp Channel Follows' and 'Cost per WhatsApp Channel Follows', which track users who start following a WhatsApp Channel due to ads.
Catalog Ads Image Optimization
For Catalog ads, Meta suggests using 'Image touch-ups' in Advantage+ creative to automatically crop product media to fit 4:5 for Feed and 9:16 for Reels and Stories. Manual image fit options remain available.
Expanded Retargeting Audiences
Meta may now supplement Website Custom Audiences with audiences from Facebook/Instagram shops, potentially increasing retargeting audience size and improving results.
