Google Search has updated its documentation to include the option of using the OG title meta data for title links in search results, adding a ninth potential source for title links.

Google may use the following sources for your title link:

elements - Main visual title shown on the page
- Heading elements, such as

meta tags - Other content that’s large and prominent through style treatments
- Other text contained in the page
- Anchor text on the page
- Text within links that point to the page

The new addition is the "Content in og:title
meta tags" option. An OG title is the title of your object as it should appear within the open graph, often used by social media platforms to determine the title for shared URLs. The title link in Google Search is the clickable title in the search result snippet.
